Porto Timoni is a beautiful twin beach on Corfu’s northwest coast, framed by green hills and impossibly clear water. It is one of the island’s most memorable places to spend a day.
The path down is part of the experience: take water, comfortable shoes and give yourself time to enjoy the view. We are always happy to help with practical local advice before you go.
Why go
Hidden below the traditional village of Afionas, Porto Timoni is known for its rare twin beaches: two clear-water coves divided by a narrow green headland. The view from above is one of the most photographed scenes in northwest Corfu.
There are no beach bars, rows of sunbeds or large facilities waiting below. That is exactly the appeal. Smooth pebbles, bright Ionian water and a quiet natural setting make it a wonderful place to swim, snorkel or simply slow down for a few hours.
Bring what you need for the day, leave no trace, and give yourself enough time to enjoy the walk as much as the swim.
From Apartments Giannis
Our apartments are around 4 km from Afionas, the starting point for the trail. That means Porto Timoni is close enough for a spontaneous day out, with two simple ways to reach it.
It is a short 5–10 minute drive to the village. Park in Afionas and follow the path towards the twin beaches. The downhill walk usually takes around 20–30 minutes, with beautiful views along the way.
Best for: walkers, photographers and guests who enjoy a little adventure.
Prefer to skip the hillside trail? Agios Georgios beach is only a short walk from the apartments. In season, ask locally about taxi boats or boat hire for a relaxed approach from the sea.
Best for: an easier journey and a different view of the coastline.
